The Economic and Social Council of Greece assumed the Presidency of the International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) for the next two years, during the official Plenary Session of the Association, which was held in Willemstad, Curaçao, on 31 October 2025. The meeting was attended by the acting Governor of the country, Mrs. Michèle Russel-Capriles, the Prime Minister, Mr. Gilmar Pisas, the President of the Parliament, Mr. Fergino Brownbill, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Mr. Sithree van Heydoorn, as well as the outgoing President of AICESIS and President of the Economic and Social Council of Curacao, Mr. John Jacobs.
The new President of AICESIS and President of the Economic and Social Council of Greece, Mr. Ioannis Paidas, warmly thanked the Members for the honor of the Greek Economic and Social Council, a constitutionally recognized institution of our country, assuming the Presidency of the International Association, which includes 72 Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions from Asia, Africa, Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean.
