Τα στοιχεία δείχνουν ότι το προσδόκιμο ζωής είναι υψηλότερο για τις γυναίκες από ό,τι για τους άνδρες σε κάθε περιοχή της ΕΕ.

Το 2020, τα υψηλότερα επίπεδα προσδόκιμου ζωής κατά τη γέννηση για τις γυναίκες ήταν στη γαλλική νησιωτική περιοχή της Κορσικής (87,0 έτη). Γενικότερα, τα νεογέννητα κορίτσια στις περιοχές της Ισπανίας, της Γαλλίας και της Ιταλίας αναμενόταν να ζήσουν περισσότερο.
