Το 2020, στην Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση (ΕΕ), 9 στα 10 άτομα ηλικίας 15-19 ετών εξακολουθούσαν να φοιτούν στην εκπαίδευση (89,5%). Όσο μεγαλύτερη είναι η ηλικιακή ομάδα, τόσο μικρότερη είναι η αναλογία των νέων στην εκπαίδευση: Το 49,5% των ατόμων ηλικίας 20-24 ετών, το 14,4% των ατόμων ηλικίας 25-29 ετών και το 4,8% των ατόμων ηλικίας 30-34 ετών ήταν στην εκπαίδευση το 2020.
