Σε Δήλωσή του προς τη Διεθνή Νομισματική και Oικονομική Επιτροπή του Διεθνούς Νομισματικού Ταμείου (IMF) και την Παγκόσμια Τράπεζα, ο Γενικός Διευθυντής της Διεθνούς Οργάνωσης Εργασίας (ILO), Guy Ryder, περιέγραψε τα μέτρα που πρέπει να ληφθούν για να μειωθεί ο αντίκτυπος της κρίσης από την πανδημία στις αγορές εργασίας και στα εκατομμύρια των εργαζομένων.

Πρότεινε, μεταξύ άλλων, την αξιοποίηση του κοινωνικού διαλόγου για λύσεις. Η οικοδόμηση εμπιστοσύνης μέσω του διαλόγου είναι ζωτικής σημασίας για να καταστούν αποτελεσματικά τα μέτρα πολιτικής. Η εμπειρία από προηγούμενες κρίσεις έδειξε ότι ο κοινωνικός διάλογος οδηγεί σε ισχυρές, βάσει συναίνεσης, πολιτικές απαντήσεις.
